The Caring Husband Behind a Fine Italian Sauce

They look pasty but this doesn't stop the world from falling in love with sumptuous noodles of Italy. Aside from historical monuments and impressive architectural designs, the good way to truly enjoy your European vacation is to treat yourself to a scrumptious plate of their famous pasta and gourmet pizza. Creamy sauce and cheesy toppings -- it's a great pair since Romeo and Juliet. You'll sincerely be enchanted with the rich flavor and appetizing taste. But for a pasta, my chosen sauce has to be the Alfredo sauce drizzled on fettucine noodles.

We've known Alfredo as a simple white sauce but behind this sheer culinary product is a doting husband who also owned a local restaurant in Rome back in 1914. After pregnancy, Alfredo di Lelio's wife couldn't even eat and take a few bites; she seemed to lose her desire after her preggy state. Perhaps, too thoughtful of his lovely wife, Alfredo then devised a new recipe. Of course, what better way to cure her wife's pain but to cook something out of his essential kitchen? He used egg fettucine, grated it with parmegian cheese, then slathered it with butter. He then called the outcome Fetuccine all'Alfredo, which soon delighted prominent Hollywood celebrities who later became regular patrons in his eatery. Aside from the free advertising campaign from VIPs and customers, Alfredo sauce was naturally superb that the world soon became its eager fan. You'll find Alfredo's recipe in different eateries around the globe, yet, nothing beats the true goodness found in the local streets of Italy.
